PHOTOS PAGE 10: VISITS

It seems about time that a page is added to this website to show how many people have travelled to Deane Road to visit the graves of their ancestors. Many of these people came quite some distance, as you will see.

There are several people who have visited their ancestors here in the last year or two, but whose photos I don't have. If you are one of these, please send us your photos so we can add them.

Ian Price and seven members of his family travelled up from South Wales to visit the grave of their ancestor, Rev Jacob Prag. The grave had been cleared three days earlier during

a multi-agency clean-up day, photos of which can be seen here

Tricia and John Adam came from Kent to see the grave of John's indirect ancestor, Issacher Marks, who perished in the wreck of the Royal Charter steamship in 1859. Sadly, Issacher has no tombstone, although another gentleman who died in the disaster does

Brother and sister Leon Berger and Tonie Egner also came from London to visit their Sinaiberger and Jacobs ancestors. They had lasted visited the cemetery in 1991 and donated photos of the appalling state of the cemetery at that time

Henry Roche came from London to visit the graves of his ancestors the Hime family, a number of whom are buried here. Henry is an old-fashioned genealogist for whom I

have a great deal of respect
