LIVERPOOL A 170-year-old Jewish cemetery in Mersey could be restored and added to the city’s heritage trail. The last burial at Deane Road cemetery took place in 1904 and now synagogue leaders are hoping to open up the plot for visitors. Liverpool City Councillor Louise Baldock, whose ward the cemetery is in, said that she believed restoration would cost £200,000. She is now working with Saul Marks, a warden at the Old Hebrew Congregation, who is heading the project. |
